How much would you pay for music?

I have a few questions for my readers:

1. What sort of pricing model would you prefer for paid music downloads?
A) Fixed price. Same for every song.
B) Variable pricing, based on a songs popularity.

2. What is a fair price for paid downloads from independent artists?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback on these questions. Thank you in advance.

I would prefer prices related to demand, I think it would be better for the artist and for the consumer (unless the prices get ridiculously high bc of growing demand). But if they can come up with a formula that is reasonable I would prefer that method.

Thanks for the feedback on this. I agree from a consumer’s view that a demand pricing setup is more attractive.

I prefer variable pricing, but more importantly, subscription based would be my ultimate. (Unless it’s the type of subscription that locks you out of your music if you cancel)…

For independent artists, I would say a fair price would be $.59 cents per song, if you use the $.99 / song model as your standard.
