Share Photos on Twitter with TwitPic
TwitPic is a service that allows you to share & comment on photos with the increasingly popular service, Twitter.

How it works
From TwitPic’s interface you can login to your Twitter account, upload an image, & post a status update to twitter with a link to the photo, along with a description.
Another feature is the ability to comment on photos uploaded to TwitPic. The comment is also automatically added as a status update to your twitter profile like the screen shot below shows:

TwitPic was born out of my need to be able to share & comment on photos easily with twitter. I developed it over a weekend, from concept to working site. As always I’m open to feature suggestions.

Ok, I’m in. But I’m thinking, I’d like to be able to link my Twitter account to my Flickr account so that when I send a pic to my Flckr account from my Cell Phone, I can opt to have it also sent a Tweet that a pic is avaiable or even better, have the pic appear in the Twitter window (I guess depending on the Twitter app) you are using. I use Twitter with a group of progressive educators who try to get teachers and decision makers to think out of the box. Our circle uses Twitter, for example, to share examples of great teaching practices. We blog about these contantly and share great ideas. It is a non-linear effort to push people out of their comfort zone to teach students IN their comfort zone!

Noah,
What a fun, useful twitter tool! There have been lots of tweets and photos shared today. There were questions about copyright and who owns the photos that are uploaded and shared on TwitPic. Can you fill us in? Thanks.
Peggy
Peggy,
I’m glad you like TwitPic. The user who uploads a photo to TwitPic holds copyright and ownership to that photo as long as they had copyrights to the photo to begin with.
I hope that helps.
