As I look over my blog today I notice that I haven’t wrote much in the past few months. I have good reason for that…at least I think so.

I launched Indiefy in March and I am happy with its initial success. Its user base has grown over 1400% and we are still in beta! Version 2 has been cooking for a couple months now and will address many feature requests from users and some other features that I can’t mention yet, but soon! A new hardware platform that will boost Indiefy’s performance will also be rolled out in V2. Partnerships are in the works that will bring more exposure to artists and their music.

Thank you to everyone that helped get Indiefy off the ground and running. The future looks very exciting.

Indiefy has launched in beta and registration is open to music lovers and artists. For those of you who don't know, Indiefy is an online venue for Musicians / Bands to sell their music online. Artists keep the rights and set the price of their music. For listeners, when you purchase a song from an artist on Indiefy, you will have access to that song for as long as the artist keeps it on the site.

Social interaction between listeners and artists is currently in the works for the next feature set.

SWFUpload is a flash/javascript solution for uploading files VIA the web. I've always thought that uploading files via a form has been clunky. I was excited when I found this script that fixes this area. Not only can you limit which file types that show in the choose file dialog, it will also report on the progress of the upload. I've been using my own Flash based file uploader for Indiefy for sometime now and its great to see it packaged in an easy-to-use way for others.

I have been quiet lately on here and I apologize for that, but I have good reason (well at least I think so). Indiefy is coming along nicely and I wanted to show off one of my favorite features of the site. The screenshot below is from the Arist Manager and shows the MP3 uploader in action. The uploader is built in flash and looks quiet sexy if you ask me. For those of you who don't know, flash has the capabilities to upload files to a web server. This gives you the ability to show a progress of the upload and gives the user a much more intuitive interface. That is one thing thats always bugged me about uploading files from a form, you never knew how much was left.

Yes I know...a horrible day right? Wrong. I may have wrote a post about how MySpace is a Social Networking STD, but I also said "yet its huge and used by millions".

MySpace is a great way to gain exposure and if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Use MySpace at what it does best...social networking. Not because its "the best" as far as design goes, but because a boat load of people use it.
